Cortasha Begaye joined SRFSI in 2007. Cortasha has served
as the Executive Assistant for the organization and recently joined
the Financial Education Team as the new Financial Education
Coordinator. As Financial Education Coordinator Cortasha
helps with implementing, maintaining and improving our
comprehensive training and assessment program for financial
education which relates to business development, sustainability,
homeownership and general financial education. She has recently
been certified as a Building Native Communities financial
curriculum. Cortasha has been around the Salt River Pima Maricopa
Indian Community for 7 years and she has been working with Native
Communities for 12 years.
Prior to working for Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community
Cortasha has worked for her own Tribal reservation in Northern
Arizona, the Navajo Tribe. Some of her has previous experience
assisting was with the Education department on her own reservation
as a facilitator for various programs. Cortasha also has a
background in administrative support in assisting other management
level positions within Tribal Organizations.
Cortasha has received her Associates of Arts Degree with
Scottsdale Community College in 2006. She also received her
Bachelors' of Applied Science Degree in Public Agency Service at
Northern Arizona University (NAU) in May 2010. Cortasha is
currently pursuing her Masters' Degree in Administration with an
emphasis in Leadership with NAU and she plans to graduate December
2012.
