Mr. Spurlin brings over 30 years of experience to Salt River
Financial Services Institution. His duties include:
Conceptualizing and implementing financial management strategies to
maintain acceptable minimum prudent standards for CDFIs with
respect to capital and operating funds and other measures and
ratios of financial health, along with establishing and
implementing policy and procedures for the Institution to attain
maximum efficiency and outstanding customer service. Prior to
joining SRFSI, Bill was the President of Fidelity One Financial,
which provided homeownership guidance, credit counseling, credit
rebuilding, savings education and loan program development.
In 2011, Bill was appointed by the Honorable Jan Brewer,
Governor of Arizona, to serve on the Arizona Commission of Indian
Affairs (AzCIA). As a Commissioner, Bills duties will be to
encourage a spirit of cooperation to guide the continuing
government-to-government relationship between the State of Arizona,
and Tribal Nations and Communities located in Arizona. As one of
the nation's oldest tribal-state liaison agencies, AzCIA
facilitates partnerships and educates the public and private
sectors about the unique government-to-government relationships
between Tribal, State, Local and Federal entities. AzCIA
remains committed to enhancing communications between the 22 Indian
Tribes and Nation and the State of Arizona.
Bill graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from Eastern Michigan
University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Communication Technology. Bill is also a member of Phi Sigma
Pi National Honor Fraternity.
